Romanian bakery group Vel Pitar is forecasting a threefold rise in pre-tax profits for 2006 to RON15.3m (US$5.4m) from RON5.4m in 2005.
 
The company also said it expected sales to rise by 30% from RON251m to RON327m in 2006.
 
Vel Pitar, which is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, is involved in milling wheat and the manufacture and distribution of bakery products.
