Russian retailer Dixy Group’s board of directors has appointed Ilya Yakubson to the position of president.
Yakubson, a veteran of Mercury Group’s Megapolis, has served as vice president of Dixy since February last year, where he headed up the business development department.
Dixy’s former president, Vitaly Klyuchnikov, has moved to the Mercury Group, where he will work on “strategic projects”, the company revealed.
Russian conglomerate Mercury owns a controlling stake of 51% in Dixy.
The retailer, which runs over 490 stores in Russia, saw its like-for-like sales grow by more than 20% in 2008, although growth slowed in the fourth quarter of the year.
