Russian retailer Lenta is to spend US$40m on building hypermarkets in the cities of Rostov-on-Don and Ryazan.
The company, based in St. Petersburg, said today (26 April) that both outlets are expected to be open later this year.
The hypermarkets are the “standard” Lenta format, the company said, a format which is already being rolled-out in other Russian cities. The stores will be 12,000 square metres with trade space of around 7,500 square metres.
Lenta operates 14 hypermarkets and now has 15 sites under construction. Ten of the existing retail complexes are in St Petersburg.
