Unilever said today (2 July) that it had sealed its acquisition of Russian ketchup maker Baltimor following clearance from local regulators.
The Anglo-Dutch conglomerate said it had secured approval from Russia’s Federal Anitmonopoly Service for a deal first signed in April.
The acquisition, which includes ketchup, mayonnaise and tomato paste brands and a production facility near St Petersburg, gives Unilever a business that generates annual sales of around EUR70m (US$98.2m).
“The acquisition consideration was made on a cash- and debt-free basis and was not material to Unilever overall,” Unilever said.
