First-half volumes were up at Russian meat group Cherkizovo, the company said today (24 July).

Poultry volumes increased 4% in the six months to June, Cherkizovo said. Prices were up year-on-year when measured in roubles and US dollars.

Volumes from Cherkizovo’s pork business climbed 50%, although prices were lower. It said pork prices fell 27% in roubles and 28% in dollars.

Cherkizovo’s smallest meat operation by volume, meat processing, saw volumes climb 2%. Prices increased in roubles and dollars.

The company also reported figures for its grain business, which saw volumes fall 43% year-on-year. However, prices grew faster; up by 52% in roubles and by 50% in dollars.
