Russian juice and dairy company Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods has said it has invested more than US$31.7m in modernising its dairy business.
The company said it installed new production lines at two facilities in central and southern Russia as part of an all-round modernisation programme. The programme is aimed at improving the company’s operating efficiencies and maintaining quality standards.
As part of this modernisation, the company invested $12m in two new production lines at its Lianozovo Dairy that will produce milk products in plastic bottles, giving the products a longer shelf life and improving production capacity.
At Wimm-Bill-Dann’s Timashevsky Dairy the company completed the reconstruction of its lowfat foods production facility and is launching new production lines for soft curds and yoghurts. The total investment in improving the Timashevsky Dairy will be $19.7m, reported Dow Jones Business News.
