Russia’s largest retailer X5 Retail is reportedly considering forming partnerships with international retailers to drive growth in the country.
According to a report in Russian daily Kommersant, CEO Lev Khasis has signalled the group’s willingness to cooperate with global chains to open cash-and-carry wholesale outlets in Russia.
The retailer also plans to sell a controlling stake in its property unit to an investor within a year, Khasis said, according to Kommersant.
X5 was unavailable for comment as just-food went to press.
