“Following the successful launch of SanLucar in Sweden, Finland now becomes the second Scandinavian market in which we are actively developing our SanLucar brand,” SanLucar CEO Armin Rehberg said.
The companies’ efforts will include the marketing campaigns SanLucar has with Disney.
SanLucar, which generates around €1bn in revenue a year, is present in more than 30 markets. In Europe, that includes Spain, Germany, Italy and the UK.
Vegepörssi CEO Peter Söderlund said: “Across Europe, SanLucar is synonymous with exceptional quality, strong brand values and innovative point-of-sale concepts. Together, we want to offer Finnish consumers a unique shopping experience while supporting retailers with a truly distinctive premium concept.”
Further afield in July, SanLucar acquired a “controlling ownership stake” in US-based Twin River Berries.
In a statement, SanLucar said the investment will “significantly expand” its operations in North America, building on its entry into the US market three years ago.
