Non-tariff barriers are limiting the headway Brazilian beef exporters can make into the EU market, Brazilian food export agency APEX told just-food at SIAL.


 


“I have 100 EU-compliant beef exporters, but only a handful of them can get a hearing in Europe,” Mauricio Borges said.


 


The beef exporters’ EU business is hampered by regulations for third country exporters, some of which have as much to do with protecting European market share as European food safety, Borges contended.
