International Flavors & Fragrances has opened a plant in Singapore that the US firm hopes will help it tap into growing demand in Asia.

The company opened the liquid flavours and fragrances facility in Jurong in Singapore yesterday (17 September). It said the new plant replaced an existing site.

“Our continued investment in the Greater Asia region reflects our confidence in the future growth opportunities in this market both for our customers and for IFF,” chairman and CEO Doug Tough said.

Last month, IFF said its like-for-like flavours sales in Asia increased 10% in the second quarter.
