Slovenian poultry processor Perutnina Ptuj has revealed plans to acquire the agriculture company Kmetijski Kombinat Ptuj (KK Ptuj) and the meat processor Jata Meso next month.

Perutnina’s director Roman Glaser said that the company will complete its evaluation of KK Ptuj and Jata Meso, and establish the exchange ratio of their shares by the end of May. The move is expected to leave Perutnina with control of 80% of the Slovenian poultry processing market.

The merger is subject to approval by the shareholder meetings of KK Ptuj and Jata Meso in July, and by the local Competition Office.
