US group Back to Nature Foods has launched breakfast biscuits under its low-fat snack brand Snackwell’s.
Snackwell’s Biscuit Thins are available at retailers including Walmart and Food Lion.
Vincent Fantegrossi, Back to Nature Foods’ CEO, said: “We’re really excited to introduce our new Biscuit Thins, which allows us to expand into different dayparts and give consumers more opportunities to enjoy our better-for-you snacks throughout their day.”
Back to Nature Foods has developed three flavours – caramel macchiato, dark chocolate mocha and French vanilla latte. Each line has four biscuits per package.
The company acquired the Snackwell’s brand from Mondelez International in 2014.
Mondelez has a minority stake in Back to Nature, which is majority-owned by private-equity firm Brynwood Partners. In August 2012, the then Kraft Foods sold the majority of Back to Nature to Brynwood. Kraft kept a “substantial minority stake” in the business. Two months later, Kraft formally split in two, forming global snacks company Mondelez and US-focused grocery company Kraft Foods Group.
