Revised regulations governing the livestock industry will require chickens to be graded in a bid to boost quality. The Rural Development Administration is currently drawing up the rating standards, with a view to implementing changes in 2003, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
The new regulations also stipulate for the provision of financial aid for companies developing technologies to help with raising livestock. New companies will now be eligible for livestock industry development funds.
The need for more legal revisions means that no plans have yet been made to implement a similar grading system for eggs.
