Spanish fish group Pescanova has posted a 5% rise in first-quarter earnings on the back of a 18% jump in sales.


The company saw net profit climb 5.4% to EUR6.1m (US$8.3m) during the first three months of the year. Turnover leapt 18% to EUR275.6m.


Pescanova operates in 21 countries including France.


The company is divided into three different businesses – Fishco, Acuinova and Aliholding, which respectively capture raise and process its products.
