Cadbury Spain expects sales to perform strongly this year after turnover increased 10% in the first half and the company launches a major advertising campaign, Chief Executive Ignasi Ricou told a Madrid industry conference.

Cadbury also posted a €2.9m (US$3.8m) profit on sales of €102m in 2004, an official confirmed. The figures could not be compared to 2003 because of last year’s merger between Cadbury Dulciora and Adams Spain, which created the current entity, the official added.

Ricou said that Cadbury plans to invest “heavily in a strong advertising” campaign this year to promote its key gum and candy brands Trident and Halls and boost sales of its Huesitos and Tokke chocolate trademarks.

Cadbury has 4 factories in Spain employing 900 people.
