Spanish drinks and fruit desserts company Dream Fruits expects sales to rise by 25% to EUR100m (US$128.3m) this year as it introduces a line of soup, gazpacho and canned fried tomato, Spanish newspaper Cinco Dias reported.

The company will invest EUR9m this year (down from EUR13m spent in 2005) to streamline and expand its production facilities, the newspaper reported, citing company executives.

Dream Fruits will make a range of soups including vichyssoise, the report said. The company will initially sell the new products to white label customers such as Carrefour but hopes to launch its own brands in the future, Cinco Dias said.

Currently, Dream Fruits makes a line of multi-flavoured jams called Gabry and fruit-based desserts under the Postres de Fruta and Todofruta brands. It also reportedly makes about 200m litres of fruit juices.

Toledo-based Dream Fruits did not immediately return phone calls.
