Spanish food maker Grupo Siro is expecting to post higher sales and EBITDA for 2010, the company has said.

The company, which makes pasta, bakery and confectionery products, has estimated that its sales reached EUR410m in 2010, according to unaudited figures, up from the EUR321m made in 2009.

The same unaudited figures suggest that Siro made EBITDA of EUR71m in 2010, compared to the EUR53m recorded for 2009.

The company, which earlier this month acquired a cookies factory from local rival Nutrexpa, expects to publish its full 2010 results next month.

The acquisition of the Nutrexpa facility in Jaen, struck for an undisclosed sum, will see Siro attain a base to produce biscuits in the south of Spain. Until now, it had no biscuit production facility in that part of the country.
