Spanish food group Grupo SOS has announced plans to extend its Carbonell olive oil line with the introduction of Carbonell Intenso.

The new olive oil product has been created for consumers who “prefer a slightly stronger flavour”, the company said.

It is suited for use in cooking or salad dressing.

Last week, SOS, which has been shaken after a share scandal led to the departure of its chairman and CEO, booked a 55.3% jump in first-quarter earnings.

The addition of the Bertolli olive oil brand to the SOS stable helped boost EBITDA at the company during the first quarter of the year.
