Founded in 1892, Tarantella started out as a high-quality brand of tinned tomato products. Its business was initially concentrated in the Midlands, Leicester, Nottingham and Derbyshire, although it now sells nationwide through most of the supermarket chains, wholesalers, independent groups and cooperatives. The brand is on the distribution lists of Asda, Morrisons, Safeway, Costco, The Co-op, Budgens, Booths and Broker.
The line of products sold under the Tarantella brand includes tomatoes and by-products as well as several kinds of pulses. Most of the Tarantella products are organic.
“This operation is in keeping with the Ebro Puleva strategy of growing and expanding on international markets, especially in Europe, through the purchase and management of its own brands,” the company said.
