Atria, the Finland-based food group, said today (22 March) it would stop producing “consumer packed meat” for the Swedish market.

The company said the consumer packed meat business was running at a loss and a plant in Årsta,
outside of Stockholm, would be closed. The facility will be closed by the end of October and 49 jobs would be affected.

Atria said annual net sales from its Scandinavia business would fall by around EUR45m (US$60.8m) but EBIT would rise by around EUR500,000.

The division will focus on sausages, cold cuts, convenience food and delicacies.
