Barry Callebaut, the Swiss B2B chocolate manufacturer, today (5 July) reported a 2% increase in sales for the first nine months of its fiscal year, with contracts in the Americas helping revenue.

Sales were up 2.3% to CHF3.59bn (US$3.74bn) in the nine months to the end of May. Volumes increased 6.6%.

The company, which supplies the likes of Nestle, Kraft Foods and Hershey with chocolate products, has upped its presence in markets like Mexico in the last year.

In January, it announced a deal to supply bakery giant Grupo Bimbo with chocolate to use in products on sale in Mexico.

This year, Barry Callebaut has also expanded its business in Canada and the US.  Last month, it snapped up a production facility in Canada. In Februaury, it acquired US chocolate decorations firm Mona Lisa Food Products.
