Lars Olofsson, Nestlé executive vice president in charge of strategic business units for marketing and sales, will leave the company at the end of the month.

Olofsson is leaving to “pursue other interests” outside of Nestlé, the company announced this morning (18 November). Olofsson has spent 32 years with the company, during which time he was general manager of France Glaces Findus, head of the Nordic markets and head of Nestlé France.

In 2001, he was appointed executive vice president for Zone Europe until he took up his present position in 2005.

“We respect Mr Olofsson’s decision and thank him warmly for his many years of dedication and loyalty to Nestlé and his valuable contribution to our company’s development”, said Paul Bulcke, Nestlé CEO.

Werner Bauer, executive vice president and chief technology officer, will take interim responsibility for the vacant position, while the board of directors make a decision on a permanent appointment to the post.
