Swiss retailer Migros is to test convenience and organic stores in its domestic market.

Migros will open a M-Express convenience store format on Thursday (15 August) in Zurich.

A Alnatura-Migros organic supermarket will open in the Höngg region of Zurich on 30 August.

A Migros spokesperson said the M-Express store was a “combination of a takeaway and a supermarket”.

Migros has developed the organic outlet in partnership with German organic retailer Alnatura.

The spokesperson said Migros would look open to more of both types of store if the tests were successful but declined to comment further on the retailer’s plans.
