Swiss food giant Nestlé has promoted Kevin Petrie to head of purchasing following the resignation of his predecessor.


“Malcom Harrison decided to resign from Nestlé last month to pursue other opportunities outside the group,” a spokesperson for the company told just-food.


In his new role, Petrie oversees procurement services for the Swiss food giant.


According to his CV, Petrie joined Nestlé in 1997 and has since held a variety of positions, including director of commodities, VP of commodities and head of the commodities purchasing centre of competence for North America.


Most recently, he served as vice president and chief purchasing officer, Nestlé Business Services North America. In this role, he was responsible for providing procurement expertise to support Nestlé’s operating companies in North America by leveraging collective experience, skills and procurement power.
