Swiss food giant Nestle has confirmed it is to sell its Buitoni pasta plant in Italy.
The plant, located in Sansepolcro in Tuscany is the only pasta plant Nestle owns in Italy. The company has appointed Mediobanca to begin the search for a buyer.
A spokesperson for Nestle said: “We want to concentrate on more value-added business.”
Interested parties could not be confirmed but the sale is expected to be completed in the middle of the year.
Nestle will retain ownership of the Buitoni brand.
