Swiss sugar confectioner Ricola SA has reported a moderate increase in sales for the 2000 financial year. Consolidated group sales rose by 4.5% to SFr235m (US$130.73m), or by 2% once adjusted to allow currency fluctuations.
Much of this growth came within Europe and the developed markets within the Asian region, reports Lebensmittelzeitung, although relatively new sales areas of Eastern Europe, South America and Asia were also instrumental. The Ricola brand is distributed by Cologne-based MCM Klosterfrau in Germany, which recorded sales of DM100m (US$43.28m) last year.
