Taiwanese snack food group Want Want Holdings posted a robust 45% increase in 2001 full year profits to US$168.5m.

In a statement released yesterday [Thursday], the group attributed the strong rise in profits to 29% increase in revenues to US$730.4m, as well as “increased capacity utilisation resulting in lower unit cost of production”.

The outlook for 2002 remains positive, with the company expecting to improve its competitive standing.

It has proposed a dividend 13 US cents.
