Thai Union Frozen Products is bringing its global operating companies under a single new corporate identity.
The company is updating its name to Thai Union Group, reflecting its broader seafood interests. The company also unveiled a new group-wide “mission” to promote sustainability in the seafood sector.
Speaking at an event to celebrate the change, founder and chairman Kraisorn Chansiri said: “We began as just a small supplier. And we all worked hard to build a strong foundation for a business that would last. But even early on, I could see that the right attitude and perspective was an essential ingredient for growth. Hard work is important, but the willingness to listen carefully and learn was of equal importance.”
Co-founder and executive chairman Cheng Niruttinanon added: “We have approached our international colleagues with the sincere desire to build relationships of collaboration and mutual respect. It is these qualities that have gotten us to this position of leadership.”
Thai Union president and CEO Thiraphong Chansiri added the shift reflects the company’s increasingly global perspective and better communicates the group’s “true scale” to stakeholders. The company has expanded rapidly internationally through acquisitions including King Oscar in Europe. Through this scale, Thai Union is able to provide “better service for our customers, more innovative product for our consumers, more balanced lives for our employees, better returns for our shareholders, and most importantly, more efficient management of our precious resources”, he suggested.
Thai Union also unveiled its new corporate logo, which it said is an expression of the company’s “high performance and positive energy”, as well as its Thai heritage.
