The international dairy co-operative Campina has joined forces with Thai Dairy Industries in the production of fresh and long-life consumer dairy products in Thailand. The joint venture becomes operational today (26 January).

“This joint venture with one of the largest dairy companies in Thailand is an important expansion of Campina’s existing activities in Thailand,” the company said.

The agreement follows in the footsteps of a joint venture between Campina and Vinamilk in Vietnam which was undertaken last year.

The deal will see the companies working together in the production facilities of Thai Dairy Industries in Ayuthaya in the production of dairy drinks that will be supplied to both companies. Campina will be responsible for managing the joint venture. Thai Dairy Industries will appoint the chairman of the board of directors. Each firm will conduct separate sales and marketing.

Campina will cease production of pasteurised milk and long-life milk drinks in Bangkok.
