Thai poultry producer Charoen Pokphand (CP) Foods has said recent new outbreaks of bird flu in Thailand should not affect the company’s chicken business.
“There will be no impact from the new outbreak on our chicken business…Our chicken exports situation remains normal as we only export cooked chicken,” CP Foods chairman Dhanin Chearavanont was quoted by Dow Jones International News as saying.
Dhanin added that its chicken production should not be affected because its poultry are raised in closed system farms.
Thailand recently confirmed new outbreaks of bird flu in the northern provinces of Sukhothai and Uttaradit and the central provinces of Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani.
