US-based The Nature’s Bounty Co. has acquired The Best Bar Ever, a local producer of gluten-free protein snacks.
Located in Hunt Valley, Maryland, The Best Bar Ever products contain natural ingredients offering a balance of fats, carbohydrates and proteins, with no added fillers or sugar alcohols. The bars are available in Chocolate Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Crunch and Cookie Dough varieties.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed in a statement issued by The Nature’s Bounty, a maker of vitamins, health supplements, sports nutrition and ethical beauty products headquartered in Long Island, New York.
Paul Sturman, president and chief executive of The Nature’s Bounty, said: “Consumers are increasingly looking for convenient and great-tasting nutrition bars – and this brand was designed by its founders right in line with that trend.
“I am confident that The Best Bar Ever will be a great addition to our sports and nutrition portfolio, which includes brands such as Pure Protein, MET-Rx, and Body Fortress, the leading protein powder brand.”
The Best Bar Ever brand can be found in US health and fitness stores, along with an increasing number of drug and grocery chains. A spokesperson for The Nature’s Bounty declined to name any of the outlets stocking the product when contacted by just-food.
The Nature’s Bounty dates back more than 70 years and has manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the US and Canada.
