The Nutriment Company (TNC) has struck its third acquisition in the UK this year with Pet Treats Wholesale.

Trading as Voff Premium Pet Food until a name change in April, TNC said its latest purchase entails a company engaged in the production and supply of ‘natural’ dog treats and chews.

The Stockholm, Sweden-based company’s latest UK deal follows on the heels of Natural Instinct and Totally Natural Pet Products earlier in the year.

Anders Kristiansen, the CEO of TNC, which is backed by private-equity firm Axcel, said: “Pet Treats Wholesale has been a supplier to us for many years and we have known them for providing exceptional product quality and customer service.

“It was a very logical move to join forces with TNC and help bring these qualities to a broader range of customers – both in the UK and across mainland Europe.”

Pet Treats Wholesale has a 150-strong product portfolio of grain-free natural treats, including sausages, sticks, slices, pâté and a range of air-dried products. The company serves more than 2,000 stockists across the UK.

“Louis Jolivet, the managing director of Pet Treats Wholesale, added: "We are thrilled to join The Nutriment Company and look forward to working with the entire team as they continue their impressive journey.

“As a key treats and chews manufacturer within the group, we see this as a significant opportunity to scale our operations, enhance our product offerings, and share our expertise with the team.”

TNC specialises in the natural pet-food segment with a focus on quality, including raw pet food, snacks and supplements. Featured brands within the company’s portfolio are AniForte, Barfgold, Carnibest, Dibo, Leo & Wolf and Nova, amongst others.

Outside of the UK, TNC has also struck other recent deals in pet food. Earlier this month, the company snapped up German raw pet-food business Petman.

Last year, while still trading as Voff, TNC acquired Energique, marking the businesses’ first foray into the Dutch cat and dog food market.

Meanwhile, another UK firm, Nova Dog Chews, was purchased in 2022.
