Tiger Brands, the South Africa-based consumer goods group, has named COO Noel Doyle its new CFO.

Doyle, who has had two stints at Tiger Brands covering 14 years including time as the company’s CFO, will re-take the position on 1 August.

The company announced in May finance chief Funke Ighodaro would step down at the end of this month.

Former Mondelez International executive Lawrence MacDougall was named Tiger Brands CEO in May, replacing Peter Matlare, who joined the Allsorts confectionery and Tastic rice owner in 2008.

Doyle was appointed to what was then the newly-created role of COO in June 2015. He had been the head of Tiger Brands’ grains division.

He first joined Tiger Brands in 1998 as corporate financial services director, eventually becoming its CFO.

Doyle left Tiger Brands in 2008, with stints at Motor Group Bluespec and then at Nando’s business in southern Africa.

He re-joined Tiger Brands in 2012, taking charge of the group’s grains business.
