Trident Seafoods has signed a letter of intent to Western Alaska Fisheries from Maruha-Nichiro owned Westward Seafoods.

Western Alaska Fisheries’ assets include a processing plant in Kodiak, which is located half a mile from Trident’s existing processing facility in the town. These plants both process pollock, cod and salmon harvested from “sustainably managed” fisheries off Alaska, Trident said.
