TURKEY: Filiz Gida looks to biscuit production for expansion
Turkish food company Filiz Gida has revealed that it will soon start making biscuits and cookies for the export market. The firm also said yesterday [Monday] that it aims to increase domestic pasta consumption from 4.5kg to 9kg per capita, thus increasing the scope of the market for its flagship pasta products.

Filiz Gida is 55% owned by Italian pasta producer Barilla and 45% by Turkish industrial conglomerate Dogus Group. However, the Milliyet daily has recently reported that Dogus Gida is in talks to sell its stake to Barilla.
