2 Sisters Food Group has created two COO roles in a bid to “strengthen” the business, the UK company said today (19 August).

The two roles – COO of protein and COO of chilled, ambient and frozen – will both report to CEO Ranjit Singh, 2 Sisters said.

Chris Walker, 2 Sisters’ group procurement and supply chain director, has been appointed COO of chilled, ambient and frozen.

He will take responsibility for products including ready meals, biscuits, bakery and frozen pizza, the Fox’s biscuits and Goodfella’s pizza owner said. Walker will retain his current remit for procurement and supply chain.

The company is still recruiting for the protein CEO role, which encompasses all poultry and red meat operations in the UK and the Netherlands.

Divisional managing directors Aart Voets (European poultry), Steve Ellis (UK & 2 Sisters poultry), Jose Peralta (red meat) and Olivier Goudineau (added value) will eventually report to the COO of protein.

The new structure is effective from today, the group said.

“As our business grows, I am keen to ensure we have a team that is responsive to our customers’ needs and is shaped in a way that is fit for the future,” Singh said.

“Therefore, I am making these changes to the senior leadership team because it strengthens the business and puts the customer even closer to the heart of everything we do. These new roles will help give greater focus to our operational delivery and bring additional expertise within our product categories.”
