The Welsh Development Agency has announced a £300,000 boost for Wales’ food centres.
he money will be use to help the centres invest in new product development, and become involved in research and development work with food companies and farmers.
Food Centre Wales, Horeb, Llandysul, will receive £85,000, as will Coleg Menai Food Centre, Llangefni, and UWIC Food Centre, Cardiff. The remaining £45,000 has been allocated for joint projects involving the three food centres.
The funding announcement was made by WDA agri-food director Wynfford James at the opening of Food Centre Wales’ new research and development building today (June 13).
“The WDA is committed to supporting Wales’ network of food centres, which offer expertise to food companies and farmers,” said Mr James.
