UK dairy company Arla Foods UK has announced the sale of its third party chilled distribution business at Alcester in the West Midlands to Corby Chilled Distribution for a cash consideration of £2.8m (US$5.2m).

The Alcester business was part of Express Chilled Distribution, which itself is part of the distribution business of Arla Foods UK. The company said this disposal is in line with the group’s integration strategy.

Arla Foods UK, which has brands such as Lurpak and Anchor, was created with the merger of Express Dairies and Arla Foods UK in October 2003.
