UK retailer Asda is revamping its Extra Special own-label range by teaming up with Leiths cookery school.

This month, the cookery school will approve Asda’s Extra Special Christmas food range and will create recipes to help consumers prepare for the festive period.

The products include a pork rack with roasted apples, turkey with clementines and herbs, sprouts with chorizo, and chocolate and ginger pots. The revamp will be supported by a series of TV adverts.

Camilla Schneideman, managing director of Leiths, said: “We believe, like Asda, that good quality ingredients are at the heart of great cooking which is why we’ve chosen to collaborate with Asda Extra Special for our first-ever supermarket partnership.”

Leiths school of Food and Wine was set up by Prue Leith and Caroline Waldergrave in 1975 and has trained hundreds of chefs and food professionals.
