German biscuit maker Bahlsen has launched an oblong variant of the Jaffa Cake.
The aptly named Oblong Jaffa Cakes, were launched following research into the brand, the company said today (9 September).
The biscuit maker said the cake has “edge-to-edge” orange filling, rather than a mound in the middle and is being sold in supermarkets across the UK.
“So many of the wonders of the world are already oblong – from the ancient stones of Stonehenge to Lord’s Cricket Ground and David Coulthard’s chin. When it comes to the ultimate treat, oblong Jaffa Cakes simply have the edge,” the company said.
