UK own-label manufacturer Bakkavor has produced a range of chilled Indian ready-meals for Tesco.

The ‘Taste of India’ range, which will launch throughout Tesco’s UK stores from today (21 May), includes seven curries, four starters and five vegetarian side dishes.

“The range combines new flavours with authentic recipes and marks the first big change in the Indian meals category for some time,” said Bakkavor category manager Sarah Green. “Bakkavor has worked closely with Tesco throughout the development of the range and we are very pleased with the outcome”.

The range includes dishes such as Red Pepper Pakoras with a Mango Chutney Dip and Aubergine Masala and Pilau Rice & Roti Bread. The range will be manufactured at
Bakkavor’s sites in London and Lincolnshire.
