UK-based soup maker Baxters Food Group is to expand its portfolio with the launch of a “convenient” lunch line.
Baxters Deli Inspired Bowls are designed to deliver “three of your five a day”, the firm said today (31 August), with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
Presented in a microwaveable bowl, the low-fat recipes are ready to heat and eat.
Four flavours include; Sundried Tomato & Parmesan (with Orzo Pasta), Roasted Red Pepper & Feta (with Black-eyed Beans), Butternut Squash & Mascarpone (with giant Butterbeans), and Sweet Potato & Chana Dahl Lentils (with Chickpeas).
Baxters’ brand manager, Elaine Tewnion, said: “We know that consumers are demanding more from their food. People are looking for more convenient and healthy lunch alternatives but don’t want to compromise on taste. The launch of the range is testament to the fact that we are consistently going above and beyond to bring new and innovative products to our consumers, reinforcing our commitment to great tasting food.”
The Deli Inspired Bowls will be available from major retailers (including Waitrose and Tesco) from September, priced from GBP1.89 (US$2.90).
