UK crisp maker Burts Chips has appointed ex-Ilchester Cheese chief Melvyn Glynn as its managing director.

Melvin Glynn, who worked at Ilchester Cheese between 1998 and 2009, has also held positions at Waldens Foods, Western Cheese and ULN – now a part of French dairy group Bongrain. He will take up the role on 4 January.

Burts Chips said the appointment has been made in a bid to to drive growth in the UK and abroad.
