British confectionery giant Cadbury Schweppes PLC has revealed that it will not use milk from vaccinated cows if the government enforces a widespread vaccination programme against foot and mouth disease in the UK.

Cadbury, which uses 150m litres of milk every year in the production of its chocolate and confectionery products, said that it would import powdered milk rather than use the domestic milk supplies.

Experts fear that if other food manufacturers follow suit, the UK could soon be facing a possible glut in milk and milk products.
