UK food group Cranswick has claimed a “very positive” start to its financial year.
The company, which produces sausages, bacon and sandwiches throughout the UK, said first-quarter sales rose 25% to GBP151m (US$306m).
Food sales rose by 26% and although Cranswick said its DeliCo business, which was acquired last November, was performing well, the company added that, on an organic basis, food sales were up 22%.
