Dairy Crest has claimed a “strong” start to its financial year, highlighting “good performances” from brands including Cathedral City cheese and Petits Filous yogurts.

The UK company said a “strong trading performance” during the first three months of the financial year has left it on track to meet its expectations for the full year.

Dairy Crest pointed to growing market share for its St Hubert business in France and an “encouraging” start for “healthy” cheese Cathedral City Lighter.

The company added that sales of Clover butter are “are returning towards normal levels” after a product recall in May.
