French food giant Danone has named a new managing director for its dairy business in the UK.
Bruno Fromage, MD of Danone’s dairy business in Portugal, will take up the role of managing director of the firm’s UK division from 1 November.
Fromage replaces Marnix Eikenboom, who has been appointed to the role of vice president for the Americas and Northern Europe within Danone’s baby nutrition business.
Fromage joined Danone in 1983 and has worked for a number of subsidiaries within the company. He has held general management responsibilities for the dairy branch in Belgium and Portugal since April 2009.
He said: “I am delighted to be moving to the UK. It is an exciting market with huge potential. UK consumers eat and drink less yoghurt and yoghurt-based products than their European counterparts and the role that probiotics can play in health is less well understood. So I look forward to working to further improve Danone’s position in both areas.”
