Del Monte Fresh has announced the launch of a new range of 50-gram fruit and vegetable snack bags aimed at children aged five to 11-years-old.

The healthy snack bags will be available in primary schools across the UK from the beginning of November.

Commenting on the launch, James Mills, Del Monte foodservice director, said: “This new range was born out of huge demand, one that comes from the government, influential campaigners such as Jamie Oliver, the educational community and mums. With fruit at the heart of our business, our integrity is unquestionable when it comes to offering children tasty, nutritional snacks.  We are excited by the prospect of influencing and changing the eating habits of UK children and look forward to exploring retail opportunities for this range in the near future.”

The new Del Monte Fresh bags will be available in apple, carrot and grape varieties.
