Strengthening its position in the European marketplace, Ocean Spray’s Ingredient Technology Group (ITG) has appointed two new distributors in Spain and Italy. This development underpins Ocean Spray’s ongoing commitment to improving quality of service and ease of access for its customers. With extensive knowledge of the food ingredient market, as well as a high degree of technical expertise, both Disproquima in Spain and Natex in Italy are well equipped to deliver a premium quality service to all Ocean Spray’s customers.
Commenting on the appointment, Ron McMillan, European General Manager for Ocean Spray ITG said; “Demand for fruit ingredients is on the up across Europe, with Spain, Portugal and Italy representing key growth areas for us. Now, with the help of local distributors in these territories, we are ideally placed to provide innovative product solutions to meet our European customers’ needs.”
Headquartered near Barcelona, Disproquima was formed in 1974. Modern office and warehouse facilities ensure delivery of the highest standard of goods – to which the recently awarded ISO 9002 quality accreditation stands testament. With food/health food the largest of the company’s three divisions, Disproquima’s sales team has forged long-standing relationships with high-profile companies across the food ingredients sector.
Italian distributor Natex has come a long way from its milanese roots. Founded as a family business, Natex has been involved in the importing and exporting of semi-prepared fruit for many generations. The company originally set out to promote fruit concentrates to the food industry and has since succeeded in introducing grapefruit juice as well as other exotic fruit juices to the Italian marketplace. Natex continually seeks out new market opportunities and the ECOCERT award for commercialisation of natural products last year, officially acknowledged the company’s innovative and entrepreneurial approach.
Ocean Spray ITG is a pioneer in the field of fruit ingredients. With extensive knowledge and experience in new product development, the company has developed a range of fruit ingredients which combine simple processing with nutraceutical benefits.
