UK meat processor Dunbia has acquired pork supplier Heathfield Foods.

The deal for Crewe-based Heathfield, struck for an undisclosed sum, gives Dunbia ten processing facilities in the UK and Ireland.

Dunbia managing director Jim Dobson said: “The strategic location of the Heathfield Foods facility coupled with its strong pork supply base positioned it as a perfect fit for the Dunbia Group.”

Dobson said the site will increase Dunbia’s pork processing capabilities and he added that the company would safeguard the jobs of Heathfield’s current employees. However, a spokesperson for Dunbia did not disclose the financial details of the deal.

Dunbia which supplies beef, lamb and pork products for UK and international retailers, commercial and foodservice customers, also has a facility in Paris, France.
